At HFSF, we know its impossible to improve health without first building wealth and oppurtunity, especially for the people and communities who for too long have lacked both. In fact, non-medical care factors – wheather a person has access to a stable home, a steady job, nutritions food, quality eductaion, and a safe community- account for 80 percentof health outcomes. In other words, health starts befpore anyone steps into a doctor office or hospital. Addressing social needs and determinants, and the systems that impact them, is a core part of the Health Foundation of South Florida’s strategy for making the region healthier.
